About

Noire Gallery is pleased to present “Ordine e Disordine” an exhibition featuring a selection of works by: Alan Charlton, Alighiero Boetti, Carla Accardi, Carol Rama, Claudio Parmiggiani, David Tremlett, Giovanni Anselmo, Giulio Paolini, Hamish Fulton, James Lee Byars, Jannis Kounellis, Joan Jonas, Joan Armleder, Joanthan Monk, Leonardo Mosso, Mario Merz, Mel Bochner, Nika Neelova, Peter Wuthrich, Richard Long, Sarah Morris, Salvo, Sylvie Fleury, Sol Lewitt, Tom Sachs, Valentin Carron.
The title of the exhibition alludes to a quote from a tapestry by Alighiero Boetti, in which the artist reflects on “..Disordering order or putting order into disorder, or presenting a visual order that was the representation of a mental order. It’s just a matter of knowing the rules of the game.” Through a careful selection of 26 works by 26 artists, the exhibition explores the various conditions that lead to the production of works, in some cases, of small dimensions and how these can evoke monumental dimensions and immense space. These are occasions that are often influenced less by reason than by the necessity to concretize, without limitations, pure emotions or spontaneous thoughts.
